The appointment marks a long standing research relationship between Tom and Novo Nordisk on Design, Innovation and Sustainability related topics. The future research agenda will focus on New Venture Governance, Open entrepreneurship and Carbon as a Currency working in collaboration with Novo Nordisk Digitalization, Devices & Delivery Solutions and Circular for Zero Incubator.
“A huge congratulation to Tom with his appointment. Tom has both a technical and innovation background expertise and he has been working with industrial partners and brought novel ideas and technologies to life. He has created new research results as well as industrial solutions. Tom has developed several courses from scratch for example DTU X-Tech where engineering and entrepreneurship are combined, and the executive programme DTU Board Education.
Tom will lead the centre’s strategy to practice-based research to enhance the field of innovation and technology entrepreneurship, crossing the disciplinary borders of engineering, product/service development and business – and focus on entrepreneurial practice and start-up and industry cases, seeking to embed students within these cases as part of their experience.
We are proud to have added a professor in technology entrepreneurship to our excellent team of scientific and administrative employees at our centre. We greatly thank Novo Nordisk A/S for supporting this Professorship and this area of strategic importance for DTU”, says Jes Broeng, Professor and Director of DTU Entrepreneurship.
The date and title of Tom’s inaugural speech will be announced later.
