Argyro (Iro) Nikiforou is an Associate Professor at DTU Entrepreneurship, the Center for Technology Entrepreneurship. Her research examines the human side of innovation and entrepreneurship — who entrepreneurs and innovators are (e.g., talent, human capital, and role identity), how they interact with others (e.g., within entrepreneurial teams and external networks), and the environments in which new ventures emerge (e.g., entrepreneurial ecosystems, industry conditions, and crisis contexts). Iro has explored a range of topics, including academic entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial team formation, inclusive entrepreneurship, and innovation and entrepreneurial ecosystems. Her work has been published in leading academic journals such as Academy of Management Journal, Strategic Management Journal, and Academy of Management Perspectives. Beyond research, Iro actively engages in knowledge dissemination and policy outreach. She has advised policy-making organisations (e.g., the Greek Employment Agency) and delivered invited talks to practice-oriented audiences, including at the Digital Tech Summit and the national Open Entrepreneurship program spanning all Danish universities. Her academic background includes the University of Cambridge, the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), the Athens University of Economics and Business, and the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL).
