Joint PhD degree agreement with Nanyang

During his tour of international partner universities, the DTU President signed a new agreement with Nanyang Technological University.

DTU and Nanyang Technological University in Singapore have entered into an agreement about a joint PhD degree that is designed to support the existing research partnership and contribute to expanding and strengthening it.

As part of his recent trip to visit to a number of international partner universities in Singapore, Hong Kong and Australia, DTU President Anders Bjarklev visited Nanyang Technological University (NTU). The presidents of the two universities discussed opportunities for developing the existing partnership and took advantage of the meeting to sign an agreement that gives PhD students from DTU the chance to obtain a joint PhD from NTU and DTU. The PhD students will have to spend at least one year at NTU and will be allocated a PhD supervisor at both universities.

The agreement applies in selected academic areas, where both parties consider there to be potential for synergy and complementary activities in working together (see box).

Nanyang Technological University is listed at no. 13 in the QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) rankings and takes spot on QS’ list of the best young universities.
