Bernhard Ø. Palsson appointed honorary doctor at DTU Commemoration 2025

This year, two honorary doctorates were awarded. The honorary doctorate is awarded to a researcher from another university who has moved science to new heights within their field and has a close relationship with DTU.

Professor at the University of California, San Diego, Bernhard Ø. Palsson, is one of the leading experts in computer-based analysis of cellular metabolism. He headed DTU Biosustain from day 1 in 2011 until 2022 and is still affiliated with and active in the centre. Under Bernhard Ø. Palsson's leadership, DTU Biosustain has positioned itself internationally as a highly recognised research centre, especially in the field of metabolic engineering and advanced cell factory design.
