Research Focus: My research focuses on the chemical safety of Food Contact Materials (FCMs) through advanced analytical approaches such as high-resolution LCMS and GCMS. I specialize in developing and applying advanced analytical strategies for evaluating diverse FCMs, including plastics, paper and board, kitchenware, and bio-based materials. My research includes:Targeted and non-targeted analysis of FCMs, including plastics, paper and board, kitchenware, and bio-based materialsMigration and dissolution testingAnalytical method development for different food contact material matricesDeveloping analytical strategies for evaluating diverse materialsAnalysis of organic and inorganic chemical contaminantsAssessment of recycled materials for chemical contaminants using targeted and non-targeted approachesInvestigation of chemical safety of novel types of food contact materials Collaborations and Networks: We are National Reference Laboratory on FCMs in Denmark. We work closely with the Danish Food and Veterinary Administration and maintain strong collaborations with national and international universities, research institutions, and industries. Our institute is actively represented in the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) network on Food Contact Materials, contributing to scientific panels and working groups that shape food safety standards across Europe.
