Dr. Gregor Giebel has worked for over 30 years with short-term forecasting of wind power, large-scale integration of wind power into electricity grids, hybrid power plants, wind farm flow control and condition monitoring for wind turbines including standardisation within the IEC. He heads the DTU TotalEnergies Excellence Centre for clean energy, DTEC. He is Operating Agent of IEA Wind Task 51 Forecasting for the Weather Driven Energy System. He authored a standard report on the state of the art in short-term forecasting, cited over 1100 times. He also is an accomplished writer of research proposals, with a funding quota of over 50% getting projects for over 330 million kr.
