Olivier Bois von Kursk specializes in climate change policies designed at meeting the goals of the Paris Agreement. Through his work on the UN Environment Emissions Gap Report, he supports the coordination of an international team of leading climate scientists, assessing annually the Emissions Gap. Furthermore, his research interest currently focuses on climate resilient development strategies for developing countries and transparency measures for adaptation in the Paris Agreement.

Before joining UNEP DTU Partnership, Olivier worked as a Research Assistant at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK). His research focused on mechanisms to re-orient private capital flows in the financial system towards low-carbon and sustainable infrastructure. In parallel he has been a Guest Scientist at the Mercator Research Institute on Global Commons and Climate Change (MCC) in Berlin where he also worked as an Assistant Project Coordinator for the Think20 (T20) Task Force on Climate Policy and Finance.

Previously he has held a Junior Environmental Economist position at the Québec’s Provincial Government, in the Economic Department of the Ministry of Sustainable Development, Environment, and Fight Against Climate Change. In this capacity, he worked on social and environmental cost-benefit analysis focusing on the electrification of transport and on the use of market-based environmental policy instruments.

He holds a Masters in International Economics from the Berlin School of Economics and Law and a B.Sc. in Economic Sciences from Université de Montréal, Canada.
