Scandinavia's largest biotech production is located in Kalundborg.

For many years, DTU has had a close research collaboration with the growing biotech industry in the city, which employs a large proportion of DTU's engineering graduates. In close collaboration with local companies, DTU has established a business master's programme in Kalundborg.

In addition, every year a number of DTU thesis students are affiliated with the education and research centre Helix Lab Fellowship programme, which offers thesis collaborations with local industry.
