Walking routes: experience DTU at your own pace

Discover DTU at your own pace with our specially designed walking routes, which take you around the Lyngby or Ballerup campuses.

Would you like to experience the unique student life at our Lyngby or Ballerup campuses? The student guidance team has created walking routes tailored to your visit, which you can use whenever you like.

The routes guide you through some of the most exciting places at DTU, offering insight into the university's environment, buildings, and atmosphere.

You can use the walking routes during DTU’s opening hours on weekdays, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., when the buildings are accessible for free. You are also welcome to walk around after 4 p.m. or during the weekend. Please note, however, that the buildings are not accessible outside of opening hours without a student ID card.

Walking route at Lyngby Campus

DTU’s main campus is located in Lyngby, 10 kilometers from Copenhagen. The primary teaching for BSc, MSc, and some BEng students takes place at DTU Lyngby, where DTU’s administration is also based.

What will you see along the way?

The suggested walking route takes you past exciting buildings, street food stalls, entrepreneurial workshops, and green areas at DTU Lyngby Campus.

We recommend that you start and end your walking route in building 101.

Walking route at Ballerup Campus

At DTU in Ballerup around 2,500 students are studying for their Bachelor of Engineering degree or taking the DTU Admission Course, while approximately 1,000 students are enrolled in one of DTU’s part-time diploma programs.

What will you see along the way?

The suggested walking route at Ballerup Campus takes you to some of the places that are important to know. You will pass pleasant outdoor areas and have the opportunity to look into various workshops. We recommend that you start your route at either entrance 11A or 19D.
