DTU researchers receive the Lundbeck Foundation fellowship grants

Associate Professor Erwin Schoof and Assistant Professor Kristoffer Vitting-Seerup receive DKK 10 million to pursue their scientific visions and develop into international research leaders during the next five years.

This is the 17th consecutive year the Lundbeck Foundation awards fellowship grants to support talented young researchers with ambitions to become research leaders.

Erwin Schoof, associate professor at DTU Bioengineering, receives the grant for the project ”Characterizing Cell Heterogeneity in Healthy and Malignant Blood Cells using Single Cell Proteomics”. With his Lundbeck Foundation Fellowship, he will create a research team aimed at addressing the questions:

How do individual blood cells determine their fate – and could we specifically target cancer stem cells in the clinic?

Kristoffer Vitting-Seerup, assistant professor at DTU Health Tech, receives the grant for the project ”The devil is in the details: addressing the overlooked potential of sub-gene level analysis”. With the grant, he will establish his own research group, where he aims to inspire and enable scientists to harvest the unused potential of “protein isoforms”.

Lundbeck Foundation Fellows

It is awarded to talented young researchers with a PhD maximum of 8 years. DKK 10 million is granted over five years to establish an independent profile and research group.
