Nine DTU researchers receive grants from the Carlsberg Foundation

In total, the Foundation has approved funding of DKK 400 million to many of Denmark's leading researchers in various fields.

The grants are awarded to researchers at all career stages working on scientific projects and in various fields. Of the DKK 400 million, DKK 124 million goes to research projects in the humanities and social sciences, and DKK 108 million goes to ground-breaking research in the natural sciences.

The nine grant recipients from DTU

  • Postdoc Amalie Kai Bentzen, DTU Health Tech, receives an Internationalisation Fellowship grant for the project "Dysfunctional neoepitope‐specific T cells as targets for early Cancer Immunoprevention".
  • Associate Professor Irene Rocchi, DTU Sustain, receives a Semper Ardens: Accelerate for the project "Soil is alive (SOIA)".
  • Associate Professor Ivana Konvalinka, DTU Compute receives a Semper Ardens: Accelerate for the project" Self, other, and we: mechanisms and dynamics of self‐other integration in social observation and interaction".
  • Professor Kim Aarestrup, DTU Aqua, receives a Research Infrastructure grant for the project "Tracking Denmark's Sharks in the North".
  • Professor Mads Hartvig Clausen, DTU Chemistry, receives a Research Infrastructure grant for the project "Equipment for synthetic carbohydrate chemistry".
  • Associate Professor Nika Akopian, DTU Electro, receives a Research Infrastructure grant for the project "Quantum Internet Platform".
  • Senior Researcher Sanni‐Leea Aalto, DTU Aqua, receives a Research Infrastructure grant for the project "Microprofiler to map aquaculture biofilm functions".
  • Group Leader and Senior Researcher Stela Canulescu, DTU Electro, receives a Research Infrastructure grant for the project "A scanning photocurrent microscopy tool".
  • Associate Professor Tobias Gehring, DTU Physics, receives a Research Infrastructure grant for the project "Polarization‐Maintaining Fiber Fusion Splicer: A Key Tool for Continuous‐Variable Quantum Technology based on Light".

Carlsberg Foundation Semper Ardens: Accelerate grant

Semper Ardens Accelerate is a three-year grant of up to DKK 5 million to newly appointed permanent associate professors for the establishment of an independent research group or a research environment, including the acquisition of research infrastructure (equipment, register data, etc.) and the formation of national and international networks.

Carlsberg Foundation Research Infrastructure grant

Research Infrastructure grants are given to equipment, register data and databases.
