Senior Researcher Kaibo Zheng from DTU Chemistry receives Villum Experiment grant of DKK 2 mio for the project ’Engineering of covalent organic framework based hybrid photocatalysts for efficient CO2 to fuel conversion’.

The solar-driven photocatalytic conversion is regarded as one of the most promising approaches for CO2 transformation to tackle the rising issue of greenhouse gas emissions. The grant will be used to investigate covalent organic framework based hybrid photocatalysts for efficient CO2 to fuel conversion.

”The main impact of the proposed project is to provide new possibilities for breaking the photophysical bottleneck of photocatalytic CO2 reduction for conventional catalysts. This will upgrade the capability of solar fuel as a large-scale sustainable energy source.” explains Kaibo Zheng.

Villum Experiment

The Villum Experiment Programme has been created for research projects in technical and natural sciences that challenge the norm and have the potential fundamentally to change the way we approach important subjects.
