Christian Vestergaard Poulsen is DTU Honorary Alumnus 2025

Christian Vestergaard Poulsen graduated as an MSc in Engineering from DTU in 1992 and completed his PhD in photonics—technology that deals with generating and controlling light and other forms of electromagnetic radiation—three years later. Today, he works as COO at NKT Photonics and has been central to the development of the company’s world-leading fibre laser products.

Over the past 25 years, Christian Vestergaard Poulsen has been a key collaborative partner for DTU through a wide range of publicly funded collaborative projects, including serving as a co-supervisor on many student projects from bachelor's to PhD level.

President Anders Bjarklev awarded Christian Vestergaard Poulsen as the Honorary Alumnus 2025 at a special event for alumni who have made significant contributions to DTU in various ways.
