The Ministry of Higher Education and Science Elite Research travel grants amount to DKK 200,000. It will contribute to very talented PhD students being able to study for longer periods in the best research environments in the world.
Niels Rasmus Lorenzen receives the Elie Research travel grant for his research into using artificial intelligence to investigate the genetic basis of sleep disorders and thus make clinical decision-making more optimal. The grant will be used for an 18-month stay at Stanford University School of Medicine in the United States. The stay is part of a long-term collaboration between Stanford University, DTU and the Danish Centre for Sleep Disorders at Rigshospitalet. His stay at Stanford is hosted by Professor Emmanuel Mignot, who directs the Center for Narcolepsy, a world-leading research programme in sleep medicine.
Aleksander Moldt Haack receives the Elite Research travel grant for his research, where he has developed a new method that can contribute to a deeper understanding of disease and thus target the development of medicine. The grant will be used for a long-term stay abroad, where his work will be based on the use of mass spectrometry techniques.
