Morten Jeppesen has been employed at DTU since 2017, the past four years as Centre Director at DTU Offshore. Here he has been at the forefront of developing the centre into a central knowledge partner in the energy transition in the North Sea.
DTU Wind plays a central role in Denmark's and the world's energy transition. As Head of Department, Morten Jeppesen must be in the forefront of maintaining and further developing the Department's position as a leader in research into wind energy and energy systems and establish new collaborations across DTU with a focus on research within, among other things, the establishment and operation of large offshore wind farms and energy islands.
Morten Jeppesen's experience includes research and development along the value chain for facilities at sea, from design and development to operation and maintenance to decommissioning and recycling.
Likewise, Morten Jeppesen's extensive network in the energy sector will come in handy when DTU's industry collaboration is to be expanded to include the education of energy engineers who can solve new tasks in the energy companies when Danish society has to switch from fossil to renewable energy.
Morten Jeppesen has many years of management experience from the private sector as a manager in the former Maersk Oil in Denmark, Norway, the Middle East, and Africa, and from the university world as Centre Director of DTU Offshore. Here he has been the head of the strategy development and change management that the centre has carried out to meet the outside world's demands for new research activities that contribute to the green transition.

Bjarklev.
Morten Jeppesen takes up the position on 1 April 2023. He replaces Peter Hauge Madsen, who has decided to step down as Head of Department of DTU Wind.
