Support for simple sustainable waste management. At least when the idea is a good one, as the two women behind DropBucket have proved.
Following patent application and a recently awarded design patent in Europe, the two women behind the eco-friendly and practical disposable DropBucket have now signed a multi-million kroner investment capital agreement with the Faeroese investment trust Royndin.
The idea for DropBucket was the brainchild of seven ‘Design and Innovation’ students on their very first DTU course. The idea has subsequently been refined and marketed by two of the group’s members—Marie S. Berggren and Heiða G. Nolsøe— and investment capital will now contribute to further development.

The success was celebrated at a reception on Friday, 14 March in Copenhagen. In their thank you speech, the two visibly emotional entrepreneurs paid tribute to DTU, who for a long time acted as main project sponsors, Createch DTU, which provided legal advice, and not least Roskilde Festival, which was instrumental in kicking off the eco-friendly cardboard bucket’s rise to fame in 2013.
The investment by Royndin makes it co-owner of the company.
