DTU and Samsung C&T Corporation signs collaboration agreement

On Monday, 14 October DTU signed a collaboration agreement with the Korean company Samsung C&T Corporation in Korea.

Samsung C & T is part of the Korean business giant Samsung Group. The Samsung C & T division has a staff of more than 11,000 and is a leading engineering, procurement, and construction company. The company also invests heavily in global energy- and mineral extraction projects.

The Samsung C&T Corporation is fast becoming one of the world’s largest construction companies, and have built no less than three of the world’s tallest skyscrapers—Burj Khalifa in Dubai, Petronas Twin Towers in Malaysia, and Taipei 101 in Taiwan.

DTU’s new collaboration agreement with the Samsung C&T Corporation is a natural continuation of the so-called ‘memorandum of understanding’ that the parties signed two years ago. Now a formalized agreement is place which opens the doors to collaborations on joint research projects on sustainable energy, but also provides DTU’s students with an opportunity to become interns at Samsung in Seoul.

An internship with Samsung is a wonderful opportunity for DTU students, who will gain international experiences and take on exciting projects in a global concern based in the Republic of Korea—one of the world’s fastest growing economies.
