A new ranking shows that DTU is among the world’s most innovative universities. DTU is ranked no. 43 in the world, no. 7 in Europe, and no. 1 in the Nordic region on ‘Reuters Top 100 Innovative Universities’ ranking list.
This is the first time the ranking list has been published, and it is the first time that so many indicators (see below) have been used in an effort to rank the world’s most innovative universities.
“Naturally, we're very proud. DTU is not only the sole Nordic university in the top 100 list, but scores an impressive 7th place in Europe and no. 43 in the world. It tells us that our targeted efforts over many years in innovation and entrepreneurship are successful,” explains President Anders Bjarklev.
He points to the fact that in 2014, DTU set a record with 51 new spin-out companies, including 21 student start-ups. DTU Skylab—a 1500 m2 large innovation garage, which acts as DTU’s melting pot for student innovation and entrepreneurship—was also was established in 2013.
