New Danish-Swedish entrepreneur partnership

DTU Skylab is entering a new partnership—‘Nordic Entrepreneurship Hubs’—with the Copenhagen School of Design and Technology and Lund University. The aim of the new venture is to give more students the chance to become successful entrepreneurs by providing ready access to specialist knowledge and facilities in the Øresund Region.

The Nordic Entrepreneurship Hubs project is intended to create a new network that will provide students from DTU, the Copenhagen School of Design and Technology (KEA), and Lund University with ready access to workshops, offices and consultancy in all parts of the Øresund Region.

“We are looking forward to starting work on setting up the network and inviting students from DTU, KEA, and Lund University to use our workshop and office facilities—and becoming part of our community. In addition, one of the core deliverables of the project will be to develop start-up and growth packages tailor-made to the needs of the Danish and Swedish students,” explains Mikkel Sørensen, Head of DTU Skylab.

The focus of the Nordic Entrepreneurship Hubs project is on students in Danish and Swedish education environments whose strong academic and technical background imbue them with the potential to launch the type of company that creates jobs.

“DTU Skylab is not overly concerned with how far students have come with the development of an idea. All student entrepreneurs are welcome to use our facilities and talk to consultants, no matter whether they come to the table with a general idea, want to run tests on or prototype, or are simply looking for investors. We hope that what we already have to offer and the development of new start-up programmes will benefit and boost the entrepreneurial mindset among students.”

The project will be launched in October 2016.
