DTU behind new tech magazine

Technologist, the new tech-magazine created by the EuroTech Universities, is launched today.

As of today you can get your copy of the new science and technology magazine, Technologist, in well-assorted magazine shops.

The magazine is the brainchild of the EuroTech Universities: DTU, École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, Technische Universiteit Eindhoven and Technishe Universität München.

Communication plays a key role in modern research, both with respect to providing information on research findings and new inventions and in terms of promoting a serious and open debate.

Technologist is therefore both a natural and important step for the alliance partners.

As elite technical universities, the EuroTech partners have a special responsibility to share their knowledge about how the technical sciences can help to solve the global societal challenges. And not only with politicians and fellow researchers, but also with the general public

Innovation explained

With the slogan Innovation explained, Technologist must be the magazine which not only presents the latest research and innovation, but also explains it and puts it into perspective.

These ambitions are further underpinned by the decision to have the magazine written by independent journalists and have it edited by the Swiss media agency LargeNetwork which has also crafted the magazine’s eyecatching graphic design.

Highlights from the first issue of Technologist include the story about people who regain mobility with the help of a so-called exoskeleton—a kind of artificial skeleton which can can be controlled by the power of thought.

You can also learn more about hydraulic fracturing, known as fracking—a controversial method for extracting natural gas.

The website www.technologist.eu is launched simultaneously with the magazine; www.technologist.eu is a web universe of blogs, science and technology news as well as selected articles which have been published in the printed version.
