DTU has seen an increase from 2,500 quota 2 applicants in 2019 to 2,700 in 2020.
DTU experienced an eight per cent increase in quota 2 applications to DTU this year compared to last year. This means that DTU has seen an increase from 2,500 quota 2 applicants in 2019 to 2,700 this year.
DTU especially experiences an increase in applicants to the undergraduate programmes, the number of applicants having increased by 15 per cent compared to 2019. Particularly Civil Engineering, Physics and Nanotechnology, Chemistry and Technology, Cyber Technology, and Environmental Engineering have seen a large percentage increase. Lars D. Christoffersen, Dean of Undergraduate Studies and Student Affairs at DTU, is delighted.
“Given the lack of engineers in Denmark, it’s gratifying to see the growing interest in DTU’s study programmes,” he says.
He adds that there is also a slight decrease of two per cent in applicants to BEng programmes.
“Despite a slight decline in applicants to our BEng programmes in general, I note that both Arctic Civil Engineering and not least Fisheries Technology have experienced a decent increase. In addition, we have seen an increase in Mobility, Transport and Logistics as well. We want to see this growth continuing,” says Lars D. Christoffersen.
The quota 2 application deadline was postponed for one week because of the extraordinary COVID-19 situation in Denmark.
Until further notice, the Danish Ministry of Higher Education and Science adheres to the remaining deadlines for admission to higher education programmes. This means that the quota 1 application deadline is still 5 July 2020 at 12 noon and that both quota 1 and quota 2 applicants will receive an answer to their application on 28 July 2020.
