Technology company Lockheed Martin and DTU will look into how they can boost their technology development partnership.
On 28 August, US technology company Lockheed Martin and DTU signed a declaration of intent to develop and conduct research projects together.
The partnership will initially focus on projects within the areas of materials testing, autonomous systems, sensors, space technology, and geophysical data.
"For DTU, it is interesting from a scientific perspective to collaborate with a company that ranks among the technological leaders within its field. Lockheed Martin manufactures aircraft, radars, satellites, spacecraft, management information systems, and much more—all technologies, where DTU can contribute with relevant knowledge and skills," says Marianne Thellersen, Senior Vice President, Director for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at DTU.
DTU has previously worked with Lockheed Martin, for example in connection with the development of DTU Space's star cameras.
A partnership that was highly appreciated by Lockheed Martin, according to Dr. John D. Evans, Vice President of International Science and Technology. He says:
"DTU has been a valuable partner for Lockheed Martin, among other things in connection with NASA's New Frontiers programme, where DTU researchers delivered the Advanced Stellar Compass for the Juno spacecraft. Today's agreement provides both parties with a framework for identifying further areas for future collaboration."
