On the recently published Leiden Ranking, DTU is—as in previous years—positioned as the leading university in the Nordic region, moving 16 places up to number 66 in the world.
The Leiden Ranking is based on the research publications of 842 universities and their impact, and on the indicator ‘Proportion of top 10%’, DTU once again occupies the highest ranking among universities in the Nordic region. Among European universities on the list, DTU ranks 21, up seven places on the 2015 ranking.
When comparing globally, DTU is up 16 places compared to last year, and is now ranked no. 66 in the world.
The Leiden Ranking indicator ‘Proportion of top 10% publications’ indicates the share of the university's publications that—compared to similar publications—belong to the 10 per cent most cited in the world.

This year's Leiden Ranking includes universities with more than 1,000 Web of Science publications in the period 2011-2014. The list comprises 842 universities.
The ranking is prepared by scientists at the Centre for Science and Technology Studies (CWTS) at Leiden University in the Netherlands.
