Round the clock shopping

Campus life in Lyngby just got better. Seven days a week, from 08:00 to 22.00, døgnNetto opens its doors to students, supplying them with a range of staple convenience goods.

On 20 October, døgnNetto will open its doors. In addition to a series of special opening offers, the event will also be marked by jazz music and opening day speeches. Besides its convenient opening hours, døgnNetto can promise shoppers fresh bread baked daily on the premises, and approx. 70% of Netto’s standard product range.

„One of our big selling points is that we, unlike ordinary Netto shops, offer freshly baked bread. We also offer a selection of ready-made meals and a wide range of soft drinks and beer,“ says Morten Møberg, Retail Chain Manager at døgnNetto.

Not just for students

„We expect to become the preferred place to shop for students living at the student flats (ed. Kampsax Kollegiet). We also believe the shop will appeal to small businesses and their employees in the local area. And we shouldn’t forget the staff and students from the university.  It also makes sense to do your shopping on the way home,“ says Morten Møberg.

He goes on to say that the product range is ideally suited to the weekly shopping as well as convenience shopping.

DøgnNetto as opposed to Netto

One of the reasons for choosing to open a døgnNetto rather than a standard Netto shop is that the døgnNetto concept is more flexible and better suited to the local area. „Given its long opening hours, a døgnNetto comes closer to the ‘convenience shopping concept’ we feel suits the local area,“ says Morten Møberg.

However, there is another practical consideration that has affected the decision. The building simply would not be big enough to house a standard Netto shop, which takes up considerably more space than the new døgnNetto.
