European tech universities offer 70 postdoc scholarships

New postdoc programme supports talented researchers’ international careers within the technical sciences.

The EuroTech Universities Alliance, a strategic partnership between six leading technical universities in Europe, has launched an EUR 12.7 million research talent programme. A total of 70 two-year scholarships will be offered to postdocs over the next five years.

The EuroTechPostdoc2 programme is aimed at young researchers who have demonstrated talent and potential in their field of research. The scholarship gives them the opportunity to further strengthen their skills and boost their careers.

The young researchers will be trained in interdisciplinary research methods and will have the opportunity to work with entrepreneurship in their collaborations with European industrial companies. All fellows will be provided with two supervisors from different EuroTech universities.

“We are pleased to offer these scholarships to young talented researchers who can contribute to international science and to solving societal challenges. The Postdoc programme is a great opportunity for young researchers to build on their skills in a global context, connect with a larger field of business enterprises, and not least establish an international network,” says DTU’s Executive Vice President, Provost Rasmus Larsen.

EuroTechPostdoc2 was launched on 24 April, and the first round of tenders will begin on 30 November 2020 with the deadline being February 2021.
