Danish Tech Challenge
20 hardware startups participate in Danish Tech Challenge, where they develop technical solutions in themes such as health, sports, and climate that can contribute to the green transition and improve our quality of life.
She explains that the participants in Danish Tech Challenge will go through a five-month growth process with workshops, feedback, and training. During this process, they gain knowledge about 12 disciplines, such as product development, patenting, sales, and sustainability, which are fundamental for them to grow and establish a foothold on the market. As part of the process, the entrepreneurs are trained to pitch their business ideas to investors. During the programme, several events are organized where ‘business angels’ and other types of investors are invited.
The next major milestone in Danish Tech Challenge is 4 December, where participants must have completed all 12 disciplines to advance to the semifinals. Here, they are expected to have in-depth knowledge of the societal challenge that they are resolving and the potential of their product. But they also need to demonstrate that they complement each other as a team.
Six businesses will advance to the final in January 2024, where they will pitch their business idea at an award show. The winner is selected by an external jury and receives the Danish Industry Foundation’s Entrepreneurship Award and an accompanying prize of DKK 500,000, which will be presented by HRH Crown Prince Frederik.
