Nine DTU researchers receive Sapere Aude DFF-Starting Grant research grant from the Independent Research Fund Denmark

In total, 41 talented research leaders received 247 million DKK from the Independent Research Fund Denmark to conduct their groundbreaking research funded by the Sapere Aude: DFF-Starting Grant.

The Sapere Aude: DFF-Starting Grant is given to young researchers who have carried out top-class research. With the grant, the research talents can develop and strengthen their research ideas and competencies as research leaders. Of the 41 grant recipients, nine are from DTU.

The nine grant recipients from DTU

Ajanta Barh, DTU Electro, receives the grant for the project ”Mid-infrared dual-comb from a single free-running laser for precise greenhouse gas monitoring (MIR-2COMB)”
Borja Valverde Perez, DTU Sustain, receives the grant for the project ”Metagenome-based Metabolic Modeling for Green transition of Water Treatment – application to Methanotrophy”
Casper Wilkens, DTU Bioengineering, receives the grant for the project ”Equipping algiNate with Uronic Acids (ENNUA)”
Christian Majenz, DTU Compute, receives the grant for the project ”Idealized Models for Provably-Secure Practical Post-Quantum Cryptography (IM-3PQC)”
Dimitrios Papadopoulos, DTU Compute, receives the grant for the project “ACHiLLES: ACtive Human Labeling and LEarning Systems for deeper human-AI collaboration”
Erwin Marten Schoof, DTU Bioengineering, receives the grant for the project ”Leveraging advanced sample preparation strategies towards integrative single-cell multi-omics”
Janus Juul Eriksen, DTU Kemi, receives the grant for the project ”FESCOP: Focused Simulations of Electronic Structure in Composite Phases”
Sunil Kumar Saini, DTU Health Tech, receives the grant for the project ”Adaptation of T cell immunity in viral infection and vaccination”
Thomas Kjær Rasmussen, DTU Management, receives the grant for the project ”MobiJoule: Human energy expenditure in mobility”

Sapere Aude: DFF-Starting Grant

Sapere Aude means ”Dare to Know” and is given to talented, younger researchers who are ready to lead a research project at a high international level.
The grant allows the researchers to develop and strengthen their research ideas and start their own research groups. It will also promote mobility internationally and nationally between research environments.
The researcher can apply for a grant of a maximum of DKK 6.2 million (incl. 44% overhead) for a project of up to 4 years duration.
