Jan Hesthaven appointed honorary doctor at DTU Commemoration 2024

This year, DTU awarded three honorary doctorates. The honorary doctorate is awarded to a researcher from another university who has moved science to new heights within their field and has a close relationship with DTU.

Provost and Professor at Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne in Switzerland Jan Hesthaven's research is about developing computer methods to solve complex physical problems. By solving these problems, the goal is to improve engineering design and decision-making in various technological areas. The appointment of Jan Hesthaven was motivated by Allan Peter Engsig-Karup, Associate Professor at DTU Compute.
