Tribute to Jesper Hattel at DTU Commemoration 2025

The Academic Council awarded the technical doctorate (Dr.Techn.) to Jesper Hattel on 2 December 2024. The technical doctorate is the highest academic distinction an engineer can achieve.

The Academic Council has awarded Professor Jesper Hattel, DTU Construct, the technical doctorate (Dr.Techn.). At DTU Commemoration 2025, he was celebrated for his research in numerical modelling of manufacturing processes such as casting, 3D printing, moulding and welding in metals and polymers.

Jesper Hattel
Jesper Hattel has been a professor at DTU since 2006 and received the Lecturer of the Year award in 2010. Last year, he received the Order of the Dannebrog for his contribution to research in the field of digitalisation, and specifically digitalisation of the manufacturing industry.
