I am an ethnologist focusing on democratic, political, socio-economic and spatial dimensions of energy transitions. I have a PhD in Environmental Planning from Roskilde University. My fields of research cover energy and climate policy, public participation, energy democracy, green economy and everyday life perspectives of local citizens on green transition strategies. One of my main interests is to analyze how existing arenas for public participation are framed, filled, opened and closed in national policy discourses and in actual case studies of wind power planning. In addition to practicing a critical and discourse theoretical approach to energy research, I have experience with a range of qualitative research methods, including ethnographic fieldwork, qualitative interviews, focus groups, policy analysis and more participatory methods related to action research. In my previous work I have focused particularly on citizens' attitudes to wind turbine planning in Denmark, and recently I have started exploring current wind power development in Norway and Scotland between policies, planning rationalities and local community understandings.
