Research work in (Differential) Geometry with applications – mainly to Structural Biology. Proteins are long chain molecules that fold up into beautiful and complicated 3- dimensional structures before fulfilling their function in the living organisms. Within the field of Structural Biology Peter focuses on the use of structural descriptors to distinguish between various proteins native structures, Descriptors give a low dimensional map of the protein universe where Peter has worked on getting nice metric properties of this map. Peter also work on prediction of proteins native structure based on their sequences of amino acids. Mainly through the ESGI workshops, Peter has worked on problems from a number of companies – e.g. on pump designs.
