Tips for applicants

Your application

We receive many applications for some vacancies, so it is important to stand out from the crowd. We are more likely to notice your application if you are able to tell us briefly why you are the right person for the job.

It is also important for us to know why you want the job: What drives you? What do you want? What can you offer us? And last but not least – why do you want to work for DTU?

The test

If you are given a test to complete in connection with an interview, the best thing you can do is to answer directly, openly and honestly. It makes up part of our evaluation, but it is not the be-all and end-all.

If the test is included as part of your interview, HR will send you an e-mail with a link to a web-based test to be filled out online. Once you have completed the test, you will receive feedback from an HR consultant certified to use the test in question.

The interview

You can prepare for the interview by deciding what specific skills and experience you hope to use to convince us to employ you. What do you want us to remember about you once the interview is over and we sit down to compare all the candidates?

During the interview, try to explain how you can contribute to our activities using specific examples of what you can bring to the job. And remember to ask questions – it is important for you to feel that you have all the information you need to make an informed decision if you are offered the job.

You will be asked about practical aspects of the job, such as the salary, period of notice, etc., so be prepared.

We want to know about your professional competency and resolve, but we also want to know if you are someone we can work with. At the end of the day, the most important thing is for us to get to know you as the person you really are.
