What can you study at DTU Lyngby Campus?

The campus covers one square kilometre and is filled with research and teaching facilities, green spaces, and activities that support student life.

Lyngby Campus is DTU’s main campus. Since its establishment in 1960, the campus has been organized as a coordinate system with four quadrants, one for each of the traditional engineering disciplines: civil engineering, chemical engineering, electrical engineering, and mechanical engineering.

Today, the range of disciplines is broader, and you can study for a Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering specializing in areas such as health, IT, product design, and the environment.

There is also a wide range of continuing education programmes at DTU Lyngby Campus.

How teaching takes place

Teaching at DTU Lyngby Campus is characterized by DTU’s open-door policy. This means that lecturers are always available if you have questions or need help.

You will be taught by leading researchers and lecturers who are specialists in their scientific or technological fields.

You will attend lectures and undertake group work and interdisciplinary collaboration in well-equipped classrooms. You will also have the opportunity to work hands-on with technology in the many research and testing facilities.

Student life and community

Studying at DTU Lyngby Campus means becoming part of a unique and diverse student community with plenty of opportunities and activities.

As a student, you’ll have access to laboratories, supercomputers, experimental halls, test centres, soundproof rooms, and much more. There are also plenty of lecture theatres, group rooms, canteens, a library, and a bookshop.

At DTU’s innovation hub, Skylab, students can become part of DTU’s innovation ecosystem and receive help and guidance on setting up their own business.

The campus area is surrounded by a running path set in green surroundings, offering students the chance to take a well-deserved break.
