Study at DTU in Sisimiut

Engineering education and research in the Arctic

The DTU Sisimiut Campus is surrounded by mountains and fjords. Here, future fisheries and civil engineers prepare to develop engineering solutions for Arctic regions. They receive a practical, problem-solving-oriented education and enjoy a student life filled with outdoor activities and hands-on fieldwork.

At DTU Sisimiut Campus, you will become part of a small study community, where you quickly get to know your fellow students through lectures, project work, and fieldwork.

The campus comprises classrooms, communal dining and lunch areas, and a communal lounge. It is located next to the town’s other technical institutions: Tech College Greenland (KTI) and the School of Mineral Resources.

“I am very drawn to the prospect of working in Greenland, and this programme opens a great many different career paths after graduation. It is truly exciting.”

Student life and community

Once classes have finished for the day, there are plenty of things to do.

Most students live in halls of residence just five minutes from campus. Here, you can meet others in the kitchen, TV lounge, or over a game of table football.

Together, you can organise events such as pancake nights and quiz nights. You could watch a football match, enjoy a pint at the local pub on a Friday night, or explore the beautiful surroundings of Sisimiut.

Many students enjoy the tranquillity of the town and its beautiful natural surroundings. If you wish, you can immerse yourself in town life and the communities offered by local clubs. During the dark winter months, you can experience the Northern Lights.

”We have a small community of engineering students in our hall of residence. It’s really cosy.”
