What can you study at DTU Risø?

DTU offers a Bachelor of Engineering programme in Industrial Engineering at DTU Risø Campus.

If you choose to study this subject, you will learn to work with production within new energy technologies and energy systems.

In addition to the Bachelor of Engineering programme, the campus offers a variety of courses, individual modules, workshops and summer school programmes for master's and PhD students. Many master's students also choose to complete their master's thesis here.

Over the next few years, the plan is for more students to spend their days at DTU Risø Campus.

Practice-oriented teaching closely linked to research

As an Industrial Engineering student at DTU Risø Campus, your teaching will be closely linked to the latest research.

You will become part of everyday life on a research campus that is a leader in energy forms and systems. This means that you will be taught by skilled lecturers who are leaders in their field and that you will have access to a strong research environment and extensive expertise in wind and energy technology on campus.

The teaching is practice-oriented, and you will quickly get to know your fellow students as you collaborate through group work and project work.

Student life and community

If you study at DTU Risø Campus, there are plenty of things to do after classes, both on and off campus.

For example, you can join DTU Sport to gain access to the fitness centre and enjoy spinning and yoga classes on campus. You can celebrate the weekend with a social gathering at the Friday bar or enjoy the fresh air and beautiful surroundings by joining the running club.

As DTU Risø Campus is a new educational institution, if you choose to study here, you will have the opportunity to help shape the study environment.

Hop on your bike, and you'll reach Veddelev in just 10 minutes. There, you can swim, surf, and sail, or take part in events organized by the Veddelev Outdoor Association, such as kayaking courses and communal dining.

Cycle for another 10 minutes and you'll reach Roskilde, a vibrant cultural city. Here, you can enjoy everything from concerts at the Gimle venue to street food, craft beer, and second-hand clothes in the up-and-coming Musicon district.

Alternatively, if you prefer mountain biking, horse riding, or walking, you can pursue your interests and find peace and quiet in Hedeland Nature Park and Himmelev Forest.

World-class research facilities

DTU Risø Campus is set in the scenic fjord landscape north of Roskilde and is a leader in research into the green technologies of the future.

The campus offers a variety of resources for individuals keen to expand their knowledge of wind and energy solutions. It features a research and testing environment in which new nanoscale materials, large-scale structures, and high-tech wind turbines are being developed, among other things.

Alongside world-class research facilities, there are bright teaching rooms, a canteen, and plenty of communal spaces.

DTU Risø accommodation options

DTU Risø Campus is located close to Roskilde and just 40 km west of Copenhagen.

If you choose to live near the campus, you can settle in the lively student town of Roskilde, where there are plenty of opportunities to find accommodation within cycling distance.

If you’re travelling from further afield, the campus has plenty of parking spaces, and there are frequent bus services from Roskilde right to the doorstep.
