Tuition fee waivers for International non-EU/EEA MSc students
DTU has a very limited number of tuition fee waivers to award International new non-EU/EEA MSc students. The tuition fee waivers are allocated to students with excellent academic performance. A tuition fee waiver will cover the tuition fee for two years.
All non-EU/EEA students who apply by the 15 January deadline and who wish to apply for a tuition fee waiver must submit a separate personal statement with the application, clearly specifying that you are applying for the tuition fee waiver. Non-EU/EEA applicants with a qualifying degree from Denmark must apply by the 15th January to be considered for the tuition fee waiver.
The waivers are merit-based, hence the personal statement must focus on academic achievements at the Bachelors level. If you do not include a separate statement for the waiver at the time of submitting your application, your application will not be considered for the same.
Tuition fee waivers are granted after you have accepted an offer of admission. For more information, please visit important dates and deadlines.
DTU only offers tuition fee waivers for new students applying for the Autumn intake.
Selection process
The waiver is awarded primarily based on academic excellence, and the selection process is undertaken in parallel with the admissions process. Only applicants who submit a separate SOP for the waiver will be eligible for a waiver. After the applicants have been assessed for admission, an assessment of applicants for the waiver is made based on the following criteria:
- The applicant's grades (GPA or equivalent)
- The ranking of the university that awarded the applicant's bachelor's degree
- The applicant's extracurricular research experiences or publications, relevant work experience, relevant teaching experience, awards from competitions and extracurricular activities
