When you apply for admission you have to fulfill two sets of admission requirements:
To apply to DTU you must have an upper secondary exam that equates a Danish upper secondary exam.
If you are applying on the basis of an upper secondary exam from the Nordic countries, you can use this subject conversion table
If you are applying on the basis of an upper secondary exam from any other country, the assessment of your subject levels is carried out by the bachelor admission’s team at DTU when you apply for admission.
Alternatively, you can apply for a pre-assessment between 1 September and 1 November to find out if you fulfil the admission requirements.

In addition to the general admission requirement, you must fulfill the specific admission requirements.These requirements mean that you must have achieved a certain level in specific subjects.
The specific admission requirements for the BSc in General Engineering are (Danish levels):
DTU will convert your levels and grades, if you have a non-Danish upper secondary exam.
However, if you have an IB or an exam from the Nordic countries, you can use the conversion tables above.

You can also apply for a pre-assessment.
If you do not fulfill the specific level requirement you must pass supplement courses. You can use our Supplementary courses guide to help find online supplementary courses or you can find something on your own. If you do find courses on your own, make sure that DTU approves that the syllabus meets the required level in Denmark.
If you have a Danish upper secondary exam finished after 1 May 2022 and take supplementary courses afterwards, please be aware of the new rules for re-calculation of your grade point average.
To be admitted to the English taught General Engineering programme, all applicants with an international upper secondary qualification must meet the English language requirement. This requirement is met by completing one of the approved tests below with a score above the minimum.
Note! Meeting the English B level subject requirement from your upper secondary education does not exempt you from taking an English test.

We only accept certificates that can be verified online.
The verification of TOEFL and IELTS tests expires after 2 years and will not be accepted if they are non-verifiable on 5 July.
Please note that when taking a TOEFL test you must register both DTU’s TOEFL code (1684) prior to the test for us to verify the score result online.
