Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST)

Strategic partnership with Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology.

Purpose

With a focus on excellence and solution-oriented technologies, DTU and KAIST have worked closely together since 2008, focusing on sustainable solutions in education, research, and innovation.

At the same time, South Korea is one of Denmark’s most important partner countries, and in 2013, Innovation Center Denmark opened in Seoul, located at the Danish embassy, which has since promoted Danish-Korean cooperation in research, innovation, and technology.

More specifically, the partnership also has a connection to the national “Green Growth Alliance,” which aims to promote Denmark’s and Korea’s political, commercial, and technological collaborations in green technology and growth.

Activities

  • DTU and KAIST have particularly close research collaborations in several areas, including: sustainable energy, smart cities, quantum technologies, robots, and SMR technologies.
  • Student mobility, where KAIST is a popular destination for DTU students.
