Readmission

You have to apply for readmission if you have previously been enrolled at DTU. However, you can, at the earliest, be admitted to and enrolled in the same programme five months after withdrawal. That applies regardless of who has withdrawn your enrollment - DTU or yourself.

Be aware that it is only possible to apply for readmission in the ordinary intake (cf. the deadlines listed above) and not if we have any vacant places that are offered in a second round of intake after 28 July.

If you have been withdrawn from your study programme by DTU for study-related reasons or you have violated DTU’s rules at the time of application for readmission, you need to apply for an exemption. The first step is to apply for readmission, and DTU will then inform you about the matters for which an application for exemption must be submitted. If the exemption is granted, it will be decided if the applicant can be readmitted. If an exemption cannot be granted, the application for readmission will be rejected.

Change of study programme

If you wish to change your study programme at DTU, you must, at the time of application for a change of study programme, have passed what corresponds to the first academic year of the study programme to which you wish to change. In a BSc programme, the first year of study has been passed if at least 60 ECTS credits from the three mandatory blocks of courses (basic natural science courses, technological specialization courses, and projects and professional skills courses) have been passed. The Head of Studies of the study programme to which you wish to change assesses whether you have passed what corresponds to the first academic year or not.

A change of study programme will only be granted if there are vacant places at the relevant semester on the study programme for which you apply. You must also meet the admission requirements for the study programme.

If you, by the application deadline for a change of study programme, have passed 60 ECTS credits or more at DTU and/or another engineering/natural sciences degree, you must apply for a change of study programme within the application deadlines stated above. If the application deadlines are not met, the application will neither be considered for a change of study programme nor for ordinary admission into DTU’s study programmes.

If the Head of Studies assess that you have not passed what corresponds to the first academic year of the study programme to which you wish to change, you will be considered on equal terms with new applicants for admission into DTU’s study programmes. In relation to the winter intake, this only applies if you wish to change to the BEng programmes that has winter admission.
